5 Overpriced Fantasy Football Draft Picks 2022
- Christian McCaffrey
- Austin Ekeler
- Justin Jefferson
- Darren Waller
- Cooper Kupp
These 2022 NFL fantasy players’ ADPs and draft values are so expensive this season. These guys could boom but are they worth the price? Let’s dive in.
1. Christian McCaffrey
For a guy who has only played 10 games in the past two seasons, Christian McCaffrey has no business being drafted as a top 2-5 overall fantasy football pick in 2022. This is way too expensive for me and I don’t feel like investing this much in CMC.
Not to mention that he is now on a totally different offense than he was back in 2018 and 2019. No more Cam Newton and it’s a whole new ball game. I like the talent and he should still be a workhorse, but I think he is way to expensive in the drafts this year. I will pass up on CMC early.
2. Austin Ekeler
Austin Ekeler has the career year of his life. 12 TDs on the ground last year and 8 receiving. This was a fluke and there is no way he will duplicate those numbers this season.
The Chargers also drafted Isaiah Spiller. Look for him to get the goal line work this season. Don’t sleep on him.
3. Justin Jefferson
A guy that is coming off in the first round coming off two pinnacle seasons, you gotta wonder if a decline is on the way. When you look at Justin Jefferson and compare him to his counterpart Adam Theilen, you see that the two were on par for targets in the first 8 games of the season last year.
I would not be surprised if Adam Theilen becomes the #1 WR on the Vikings this season. The 5th-round fantasy football value of Adam is much better than the 1st-round value of Justin Jefferson. Justin is way too expensive for me to draft in the 2022 fantasy football season.
4. Darren Waller
I can’t imagine spending a 2-3rd-round pick on Darren Waller knowing that Davante Adams is coming to town. Adams is also being drafted really high and not both of these guys will finish on top.
Mathematically does not make sense for Waller to have amazing numbers, not to mention that Renfrow is still in town and he peaked at 128 targets last year.
5. Cooper Kupp
191 targets and 145 receptions will never duplicate these numbers! Drafting him in round one is a big waste!
