The Overrated NFL players list for fantasy football includes:
- Odell Beckham Jr
- Austin Ekeler
- Dalvin Cook
- Aaron Jones
- Kenyan Drake
- Alvin Kamara
- Juju Smith-Schuster
- Carson Wentz
- Kyler Murray
Most of these guys still have a lot to prove that they are ultra-elite. Need to see more out of them and some of them need to complete a full season. They are beyond overrated in fantasy football 2020 and you can get better players in your drafts for better value. I am still not sold on any of the guys listed here. The safest guy is Alvin Kamara but is he worth a TOP three spot in fantasy this year? There is true workhorses like Henry, Johnson and Gurley that are ranked below him and are slated to get a ton more volume this season.
What amazes me with fantasy football is that the mainstream sheep give you cookie-cutter advice that won’t help you succeed in the long run. You follow the sheep mentality and you will lose, there is no doubt about it. You need to stay sharp and not buy into the recency bias. Focus on talent and opportunity instead of recency bias and popular names. For example, Dalvin Cook has yet to finish an entire season and Kyler Murray has not wowed us. Yet these guys are both top 5 in their positions for fantasy football. Aaron Jones is coming off his best year in his career, but the Packers draft AJ Dillon who will eat this season. You have to look to where the puck is going and not where it has been.
