Fantasy Football Breakouts 2022
- Breece Hall
- Jerry Jeudy
- Darnell Mooney
- Drake London
- Travie Etienne
- Cam Akers
- Elijah Moore
You must note that while I have these guys listed as fantasy football breakouts, it does not mean I would draft or believe they actually will boom this season. Travis Etienne is a great example of this, as I have no draft stock in him. While Travis could boom he comes with a lot of question marks.
Let’s dive into the details on why these guys are in a great position to breakout. For all the breakouts, sleepers, and optimal players to draft in each round, make sure you get the 16 Rounds Draft solution.
1. Breece Hall
Breece Hall is an absolute beast. This is why he calls himself “Breece the Beast”. I love the upside, talent, and opportunity. You have to note that the NY jets moved up the draft to grab Breece in the 2nd round. He will eat and instantly becomes the RB 1 on the Jet’s offense.
The only real knock on Breece Hall is that he is on the Jets. I believe the Jet’s offense has the tools to do better than they did last year, and Breece will be a key factor in their success. The coaching staff has already stated that they will be using Breece Hall a lot and that he will be used a lot and often.
2. Jerry Jeudy
The sky is the limit here with Jerry Jeudy as he finally gets a QB that could actually make him fantasy relevant. The connection with Jerry and Russell could be amazing and I am willing to pay the 5th round draft price to find out.
The big debate is who will be the WR 1, Courtland Sutton or Jerry Jeudy? After speaking with the Beat Writer of the Broncos and doing my research, we come to the conclusion that Jerry Jeudy is going to the man!

3. Darnell Mooney
The only real workhorse WR on the Bears. The Chicago Bears literally have no other WR on their roster and Darnell Mooney should eat this season. I feel the talent is there and the volume and opportunity will be as well.
Darnell really has to seize the chance and opportunity and really thrive here in fantasy points and production. I like the value as well for Mooney who is typically coming off in the 5th round in drafts. You are getting a WR 1 for pretty much free. A lot of his success will depend on Justin Fields and his connection.
If Darnell Mooney had a better QB and team he was on then his ADP would be a lot higher.
4. Drake London
The top WR rookie drafted in the 2022 class. Drake London is primed for a great season and everyone is sleeping on him as he is currently sitting 38th on the consensus rankings among WRs. The Falcons literally have no WR on their team. The only other viable receiving target is Kyle Pitts and he is a tight end.
I am looking for a massive ceiling on Drake London and a potential top 10 finish in fantasy points. The only knock to him is the QB situation as we don’t know how efficient Marcus Mariota or Demond Ridder will be. One thing is for sure is that Drake will get a ton of volume going his way and he is extremely talented.
The Atlanta Falcons did not invest a 1st overall pick on a WR that will sit on the bench. He is due for a massive fantasy football breakout and he is a big-time sleeper this season.
5. Travis Etienne
This is a total boom or bust pick on a guy that we don’t know we can trust. He was hurt in the 2nd week of the preseason last year so I question whether that was a fluke injury or if he is brittle. You also have to question the offense of the Jags this season. Will Trevor Lawrence step up, or will we see more of the average play from last year?
A lot of people are hyped up about Travis, but not talking about the real RB1 which is James Robinson. I think Robinson will eat this year and should not be ignored if you draft Travis Etienne.
6. Cam Akers
The biggest boom in the early rounds has to go to Cam Akers. He defines the “Years to wow me and I’m NOT wowed” saying. I would imagine that the Rams are going to endure a Super Bowl Hangover and I really doubt that Akers can actually finish a season. I have my question marks about Akers and won’t be investing a 3rd round pick on him to find out if he will boom or bust.
The upside is that he can and should be the workhorse in LA. I am uncertain that he will finish near the top of the rankings.
7. Elijah Moore
The Jets beefed up the offense and made some great moves in the NFL draft. Drafting Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson were two of those great moves.
