Top 10 Fantasy Football RBs 2025

Fantasy football never stops, and today, we’re diving deep into the Top 10 Running Backs for Fantasy Football 2025. This is the extreme early list, and while things will change leading up to draft day, this is your foundational guide to what to expect at the RB position. We’re counting down from 10 to 1, breaking down potential trends, regression risks, and hidden gems. Let’s get into it!

Early Rankings – Subject to Change 🚨

This list isn’t set in stone. It’s February and plenty will shift with free agency, the NFL Draft, and training camps. However, we’re laying out key names and discussing who’s trending up or down. Some players may decline due to injuries, workload concerns, or offensive changes, while others are primed to break out. Let’s get started!

10. De’von Achane (Miami Dolphins)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 203 (22nd in the league)
  • Rushing Yards: 907
  • Receiving Yards: 592
  • Total TDs: 12
  • Fantasy Points: 299.9 (5th among RBs)

🚨 Potential Red Flags:

  • Injury concerns in rookie year
  • Limited volume (Miami has a history of RB committee approaches)
  • Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa’s status could impact the offense

Achane has elite explosiveness, but will he get true workhorse volume? We shall see.

9. Josh Jacobs (Green Bay Packers)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 301 (6th overall)
  • Rushing Yards: 1329
  • Yards Per Carry: 4.4
  • Total TDs: 15
  • Fantasy Points: 293.15

Jacobs moves to Green Bay, where he should thrive in a high-powered offense. The biggest appeal is his volume consistency—a true bell-cow RB1 in fantasy football.

8. Bucky Irving (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 207
  • Rushing Yards: 1122
  • Yards Per Carry: 5.0
  • Total TDs: 8

Bucky Irving superseded Rachaad White by the end of last season and has a clear upward trajectory. He should see increased volume and solidify his RB1 role in Tampa.

7. Derrick Henry (Baltimore Ravens)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 325 (3rd overall)
  • Rushing Yards: 1921
  • Total TDs: 16

🚨 Concerns:

  • Entering his 10th season
  • Regression likely due to age
  • Heavy workload could catch up to him

Henry remains dominant, but will his body hold up? Given the wear and tear, this could be the first year we see a drop-off in production.

6. Ashton Jeanty (Dallas Cowboys – Projected Draft Pick)

2024 College Stats:

  • Rushing Yards: 2601
  • Total TDs: 29

🚀 Potential Rookie Star: Jeanty is explosive, versatile, and powerful, and Dallas needs a true RB1. If they draft him, expect 300+ touches and top-tier fantasy relevance. Rico Dowle is not the solution, and has had years to wow us, and we are not wowed.  Jeanty could and will be the future for the Cowboys and for many fantasy seasons to come!

5. Breece Hall (New York Jets)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 209
  • Rushing Yards: 876
  • Total TDs: 8

Hall had a down year, but the Jets’ offense was awful. If they upgrade at QB and O-line, Hall could explode in 2025. We cannot deny his talent and abilty. He even knows he had a down year. Things will be looking up for Breece the Beast.

4. Kyren Williams (Los Angeles Rams)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 316 (3rd overall)
  • Rushing Yards: 1299
  • Total TDs: 14

Williams is a true workhorse, locked in as the Rams’ RB1. Health is the only concern, but the volume will be elite.

3. Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 345 (1st overall)
  • Rushing Yards: 2000+
  • Total TDs: 13

🚨 Concerns:

  • Super Bowl Hangover
  • Injury Risk (8th season in the NFL)
  • 2000-yard seasons are rarely repeated

Barkley is still elite, but expect a small regression from his insane 2024 performance.

2. Jahmyr Gibbs (Detroit Lions)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 250
  • Rushing Yards: 1412
  • Total TDs: 16
  • Fantasy Points: 362.5 (1st overall)

🚨 Montgomery Factor: David Montgomery stole 185 carries from Gibbs. If Gibbs gets more volume, he could break fantasy football records.

1. Bijan Robinson (Atlanta Falcons)

2024 Stats:

  • Rushing Attempts: 304 (4th overall)
  • Rushing Yards: 1442
  • Total TDs: 14

Robinson is entering his prime, and with less competition, he should see even more work in 2025. He has the talent, volume, and opportunity to be the #1 RB in fantasy football.

Final Thoughts: 2025 Fantasy RB Strategy

🏆 Key Takeaways:

  • Avoid RBs coming off pinnacle years (CMC, Barkley, Henry).
  • Target young, ascending workhorses (Bijan, Gibbs, Bucky).
  • Keep an eye on rookies like Jeanty for sleeper value.
