3 RB Sleepers You Must Stash
- Deuce Vaughn
- Tank Bigsby
- DeWayne McBride
These running backs are in a prime position to succeed. They have upside and can supersede the RB in front of them in the committee.
When doing your fantasy football draft, look for those upside backups that could take the job from their starting RBs. These Running backs are in a position to thrive this season. The draft capital is very low, and they are worth a stash to add depth to your fantasy RB core.
I am not really sold on Tony Pollard, Travis Etienne, and Alexander Mattison being the main guys in these offenses. For example, Mattison and Pollard were backups for years. I doubt they will rise to the occasion.
We have young, dynamic talent coming into these teams who were workhorses in college. Deuce Vaughn’s stats in college were insane, and he is small but has that RB1 upside if they give him the volume. Deuce could be the steal of the NFL draft and is a big-time sleeper.
When you look at a guy like Tank Bigsby, you have to look at the fact that Travis Etienne has sucked and has not proven he can be the true workhorse RB. Being injured his entire first season does not help the case of Etienne. You also have to factor in that Travis was inconsistent all last year. I don’t trust him and won’t be looking to draft him. Give me Tank later in the drafts for free.
As for Mattison, he was always a backup and is a throw-first offense. Mattison is good but is not outstanding and I don’t see a high ceiling for him. I have a hard time trusting backups to be honest when it comes to the RB position.
