This podcast episode focuses on players that will never hit peak numbers again, and you should never draft again. Avoid these players at all costs. Let’s dive into why you should not draft players like Davante Adams this NFL 2023 fantasy football season.
1. Ezekiel Elliott
Washed up is the only word that comes to mind when you think about Zeke. From his YPC dropping from 4.7 YPC to 3.8 since 2018 and losing his job to Pollard, you know he is done. At the time of this article, he is a lingering free agent that no one wants.
If you want to draft Zeke, understand that you will be a boring, average RB who will not wow you. Do not draft this RB.
2. Dalvin Cook
Cook has past his prime days and should be on the move in early June. Wherever he ends up, he will be part of a committee and won’t be the lead back. His best year was in 2020, and even then, he missed your fantasy football playoffs.
Dalvin Cook has not finished a season in his entire career except for last year. And still didn’t finish in the top 10 among RBs. He was drafted in round 1 in fantasy leagues and finished 11th in PPR among RBs. He is a big fantasy football bust and should never be drafted again.

3. Davante Adams
Adams is getting a major decline at the QB position. Going from Aaron Rodgers. to Derek Carr to Jimmy G. He is constantly getting worse QBs with each coming year.
Adams is also entering his 10th year, and I will not be drafting a 30-year-old RB in the 1st round of my 2023 draft. This is the year of the decline for Adams, and you will never see peak Adams again.
4. Austin Ekeler
If you were to find a perfect storm for a mediocre RB, that would describe the situation for Austin Ekeler. He was a back up for Melvin Gordon for years and finally got his shot. Yes, he had a good fantasy football season last year, but let’s ask why.
Joe Lombardi kept giving him check downs, and Ekeler had 127 targets, which he will never see again. Also, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams were banged up last season, and Ekeler was the only person Herbert was throwing to.
Things changed this year; big time, as the Chargers drafted Quentin Johnston in round 1 of the NFL draft, there is a change at the OC position, and Hebert is in a contract year. Justin Herbert has to throw the ball down the field if the Chargers want to win.
