Overvalued QB’s to avoid this upcoming fantasy football 2020 season. The Counselor explains why guys like Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray are overvalued.
1. Lamar Jackson
This man is great but he is very expensive for fantasy football in 2020. You will have to invest a 2nd round pick in Lamar Jackson if you want him on your roster. Lamar rushed for more yards than all RB’s except for 5. This showed me that he can put up a lot of fantasy points but puts himself at risk of a major injury. 176 rushing attempts, 1206 rushing yards and 7 rushing TD’s. This is great but you will see a decline in these numbers as the Ravens invested in a solid RB with Dobbins. When it comes to passing, Jackson was #26 in attempts with 401 and #22 in passing yards 3127. So if you’re looking to have Jackson put up points in the air, you will not get it. Look for a decline in his performance and load up on a workhorse RB in the 2nd round instead.
2. Kyler Murray
Everyone is expecting Kyler to be the next Lamar this upcoming fantasy football 2020 season. I think this is a big reach and his 20 TD’s and 12 interceptions do not look exciting. Even with the addition of Hopkins, I doubt he will be a top 5 finisher this season. He will have all the tools around him to succeed, but I feel the Cardinals offense is still suspect and that rapport needs to be built with his new players. Should be an interesting offense to watch and the ceiling is there. Is he worth a 5th round pick in your fantasy football draft in 2020? I am going to look elsewhere for better value like Russell Wilson in the 7th rd.
3. Drew Brees
Yeah, we know that Drew Brees was hurt last year and when he played a full season in 2018 he finished 8th amongst QB’s that year in fantasy points. Don’t let the finish in points fool you. He was a major bust in 4 of the games that season. His volatile performances make him hard to trust week in and out. I personally will never draft him because he can’t stay consistent week in and week out.
4. Carson Wentz
Carson is currently ranked 9th on the consensus rankings which is crazy considering he doesn’t finish seasons. Even with the new weapons around him, I find him hard to trust to stay on the field. I will stay far away from Wentz this season again.
