🚨 Top 5 Fantasy Football Busts for 2025 — DO NOT DRAFT
These aren’t just “eh” players. These are massive names, early-round draft picks that are walking red flags. Let your clueless league mates take the bait — you’re smarter than that.
Let’s dive in:
1. Puka Nacua (WR, Rams) – ADP: Late Round 1 / Early Round 2
Red flags galore here, folks.
Puka’s coming off the board as a top 4 wide receiver in fantasy drafts, sometimes 6th overall. This is way to much to pay when you have an alpha like Adams come into the picture. But let’s break down what’s really going on:
🚩 Injury Risk
Sprained knee early in 2024.
Only 3 touchdowns from Week 11 to 17.
🚩 Davante Adams Effect
Rams added Davante Adams, who had 141 targets and 8 touchdowns last season.
Why assume Adams takes a back seat? He’s never been a WR2 in his career.
🚩 Limited Touchdowns + QB Concern
Stafford threw just 20 TDs last season. That’s it.
Puka only caught 3 of them in the final stretch of the season.
🚩 Mentality Red Flag
Publicly said he wants to “retire early” or explore another sport like basketball?
You’re picking this guy round 1, and he’s already thinking about retirement?
🔥 Verdict: Massive trap. Don’t spend elite draft capital on a player with injury concerns, a declining QB, and a hungry Adams now in the mix. Go RB in round 1 — I break it down fully in the 16-Round Draft Solution.
2. Brock Bowers (TE, Seahawks) – ADP: Round 2 (sometimes Round 1 in TE-premium leagues)
Look, I love the talent. But you’re being sold a fairytale if you’re investing second-round capital in Bowers.
🚩 Rookie TE + New Situation
No more perfect storm like last year with no WR competition.
Now you’ve got Dont’e Thornton, Jack Bech, and a pass-catching RB Jeanty
🚩 QB Downgrade
Gino Smith is no longer that guy.
Minshew/OC had good chemistry with Bowers. Smith may not.
🚩 Touch Regression Coming
112 receptions, 1,194 yards, 5 TDs in 2024 — unlikely to repeat.
The offense will be more spread out with real weapons this year.
🔥 Verdict: Don’t pay a premium for last year’s stats. Regression is coming. Tight end is deep this year — wait and draft smart.
3. Tee Higgins (WR, Bengals) – ADP: Round 2
This one’s almost laughable. Tee Higgins is the ultimate beta WR being drafted like an alpha.
📉 What Has He Actually Done?
Finished WR55 in PPR last year.
911 yards, 10 TDs — the TDs saved his season, but that’s not sustainable.
🚩 Health and QB Concerns
Burrow still has wrist issues.
Higgins himself has been banged up nearly every season.
🤯 Overdrafted
Players like McLaurin and Jerry Jeudy scored more fantasy points last year, and they’re being drafted 4+ rounds later!
🔥 Verdict: You’re drafting the WR2 on a pass-uncertain offense in round two? Let your opponents make that mistake. Laugh when they do.
4. Rashee Rice & Xavier Worthy (WRs, Chiefs) – ADPs: Round 3 & Round 5
Let’s bundle this Chiefs WR situation as one massive trap.
🚩 Who’s the WR1? Nobody Knows
Rashee Rice showed flashes but played only 4 relevant games.
Worthy? Rookie, 638 yards, 6 TDs — nothing elite about that.
🚩 Kelce Still There
Even a “down year” Kelce is still getting 100+ targets.
🚩 Target Dilution
New weapons.
Mahomes spreads the ball.
No alpha WR in Kansas City, which kills upside.
🔥 Verdict: Waste of picks in a crowded, low-ceiling WR corps. Let others chase the ghost of Tyreek Hill.
5. Alvin Kamara (RB, Saints) – ADP: Round 4–5
He’s the classic name-brand player being drafted off old reputation. It’s time to face facts.
🚩 No Rushing Upside
ZERO 1,000-yard rushing seasons in his career.
Only valuable in PPR — and even that is fading.
🚩 Age & Decline
Kamara is past his prime.
Last 3 years: 211, 233, 265 fantasy points — trending sideways, not up.
🚩 Bad QB Situation
Uncertainty around Tyler Shough (or however they pronounce it).
Will he check down enough to make Kamara relevant?
🔥 Verdict: If you’re drafting Kamara as your RB1 in round 4, your team is in trouble. His best years are far behind him. Look for young, hungry RBs instead — I give you tons of them in 16 Rounds.
💀 Recap: Do NOT Draft These Players for Fantasy Football 2025
Puka Nacua – Injury risk + Adams = No thanks.
Brock Bowers – Rookie TE regression, bad fit.
Tee Higgins – Overdrafted beta receiver.
Rashee Rice & Xavier Worthy – Target mess in KC.
Alvin Kamara – Washed up, no upside left.
