New York Jets Outlook 2022
The Fantasy Football Counselor is Joined by Ian from Jets Central to give you a full Jets Team breakdown in detail. Talking Fantasy Football Outlook and team projection going into the 2022 NFL season.
The Jets QB situation
This is probably the biggest area of concern for the NY Jets going into the 2022 NFL season. Is Zach Wilson the real deal and up to the task to bring the Jets to the top of their division? The NY Jets had a great draft on paper and brought a lot of weapons around Wilson. It is really up to Zach to grab the bull by the horns and step up in this offense.
From a fantasy perspective, I am fully staying away from Wilson as there are a ton better more safe, and reliable QBs to draft this upcoming season. This is a make-or-break season for Zach and he has to step up or the Jets should be looking for another QB. It is still too early to tell if he can be a franchise QB or not. 2022 will answer the questions that the Jets have been waiting for. One thing is for sure, you need to dodge him when it comes to fantasy football. Stay far away for now unless he can prove me wrong.
The NY Jets Running Back Stud and Potential Committee
After talking with Ian, and based on the talent of Breece Hall, there is no question on who the starter will be. Breece should be the workhorse RB in Jets land and it’s not even close. The Jets moved up in the draft to get him when they could have easily drafted either position that they desperately needed.
Michael Carter is still there and peaked last year with only 147 attempts. If the Jets really believed in Carter, they would have never drafted Breece Hall. The Coaching staff also just moments after my interview with Ian, stated that he will be the main man. They said he looks great off the line, and his running and catching looked good as well. I believe the Jets are excited about Hall, and if they want to win they will use their best weapons all around.
When it comes to drafting Hall, he is sitting 20th on the consensus rankings, but look for that to climb as we get closer to the NFL season. Don’t sleep on Hall, even though he is on the Jets.
The Wide Receiver Situation Looks Good
Garrett Wilson was added to the Jet’s offense in the first round with the 10th pick of the 2022 NFL draft. Combo him with Elijah Moore and you have a potential great WR duo. Young and talented WRs to add to Zach Wilson’s offense. The big question goes back to Wilson, who we question is really that great of a QB.
I will be fading these WRs, as I do not trust Wilson at the QB position. Breece Hall is a yes for me and the WRs are a no, as we don’t even know who the true WR one is going to be. Too many question marks when it comes to the passing game in general for the Jets.
Final Thoughts on the Jets Outlook in 2022
I am told that the Oline has improved about 30% from last year. The Jets had a good draft and brought in some solid weapons. As stated before I will avoid the QB and the WRs this year. I will be drafting Breece Hall in the 3rd round in fantasy football drafts if I can get him there.
