Tight End Sleepers 2023
- Juwan Johnson
- Michael Mayer
- Sam LaPorta
These guys will be safe and solid tight ends to draft this season, and they are big-time sleepers at the position. Let’s dive into some details on these players.
1. Juwan Johnson
This guy’s targets have been going up year after year. Now he finally has a QB that can make him viable. Derek Carr is a boost at the QB position for Juwan, and he is set to eat. The only other person there for competition is Taysom Hill and that should not be a problem.
I like Juwan as a safe TE that will give me at least 10 points weekly, which is all I expect from my tight end each week.
2. Michael Mayer
You don’t draft a player in the 2nd round to bench him or just make him a blocker. Michael can really shine this year in Las Vegas. Aside from Davante Adams, the Raiders don’t have any amazing pass-catchers.
Mayer found the endzone nine times in college last year, and he should not have a problem finding it in the NFL. I like the upside this season and the fantasy football draft value, of course.
3. Sam LaPorta
Sam is known as the human tank and is a strong tight end. I like the landing spot in Detriot, and he will be fed often by Jared Goff this season. I heard he is already doing well in training camp and is worst a stash on your rosters this year.
Fantasy Football draft strategy around drafting TEs
Make sure you draft a safe tight end and always back them up with a tight end with upside. After Travis Kelce, it’s a dice roll so you need to take some chances on upside later in your drafts.
