Waiver Wire Week 3 Pickups. There were a ton of injuries this past weekend. Here are some pickups at each position that could take some pressure off for you if you lost a stud to injury.
Quarterbacks:
Jeff Driskel – With Drew Lock going down, Jeff may be viable if you are really desperate for a QB. This may only be relevant in a 2 QB league.
Justin Herbert – From the crazy talk, I heard, that Tyrod Taylor is still the starter. Herbert is a guy you should stash on your bench because he should be starting! What a great performance against the Superbowl champs. He threw for 311 yards and 1 TD. He looked really good for his debut.
Running Backs:
Darrell Henderson – A good performance but Cam Akers should not miss too much time and should be the starter in LA.
Dion Lewis – Saquon Barkley going down hurts a lot of teams. I am not sure if Lewis is the long term solution here.
Devonta Freeman – He had a workout with the Giants and would be a good fit. At the time of this article he is a free agent. I would strongly consider grabbing him He is better than both Wayne Gallman and Dion Lewis.
Mike Davis – Christian McCaffrey is out for 4-6 Weeks with a ankle sprain. I am not sure if Davis could fill those shoes but there isn’t much to choose from.
Jerrick McKinnon / Tevin Coleman – I think Jerrick is the man since Raheem went down.
Wide Receivers:
Braxton Berrios – He will get targets by default
Chase Claypool – He had his breakout game and looked good. Could be volatile game in and out.
Randall Cobb- Nothing exciting but could be viable.
KJ Hamler – I like the upside with Courtland Sutton going down.
Tight Ends
Jordan Akins
Jordan Reed
Dalton Shultz
