1. Go Robust RB

Loading up on the most scarce position is the best thing you can do in your drafts this and every other season. There is a ton of depth at WR and you can get a WR 1 later in your drafts. They are a dime a dozen and you can load up on upside wideouts after you secure your ace RBs.

2. Anchor your team with an ace QB

The ace QB is crucial to your success in fantasy football. The cool thing is that you can tell which QBs will crush it based on the performances the years before as their stats are more predictable than other positions. I love to anchor my team with an ace and get a high upside backup to cover myself in case of injuries, lack of performance, and bye weeks.

3. Don’t overpay for a QB

The last thing you want to do is overpay for a QB. While you need an ace QB, you can still get one in and around RD 5 and 6. Last year we all saw what happened with Lamar Jackson being drafted in RD 2 and busting based on that ADP. There is a ton of depth at this position and waiting is not such a bad thing. Just don’t wait too long and consider a QB in the first 3 rounds in super flex and two QB leagues. Just make sure you get a proven ace that you know will finish top 10 among QBs.

4. Wait on WRs

As mentioned in the Go Robust RB Point, there is a ton of depth at WR this season and every season. There should also be a lot of WR breakouts this season you can target with massive upside. I love guys like Elijah Moore and Amon-Ra St Brown as last-round steals for example. Do not hesitate to load up and stash 5-8 WRs on your roster. The key is to draft the guys that are in a position to succeed. You want these WR’s to get a ton of volume and also have a great QB throwing to them Volume and being high on the depth chart are major and important factors of success here.

5. Aim high on the depth chart

Always aim high on the depth charts when drafting a player. I see it time and time again, people will pass up on a player in a particular round who is high on the depth chart to get a popular named WR2 on another team. This is a mistake as you could be getting the WR1 on a team with a lower ADP over a WR2 with a higher ADP. The Consensus rankings are not doing you any favors with the terrible organization of these rankings.

6. Look for break out players

This is important as you definitely want to be the guy in your league that gets to claim they found the breakout player of the year. You can do this if you aim high on the depth charts and know where to look. All of these draft tips all tie in together. Remember to get those safe players as well as we talk about in the next point. Breakout players are guys in great situations to succeed. The maybe young guys that are primed to get a lot of volume.

7. Balance your Roster

I always make sure you have a balanced roster of upside players and guys that are consistent fantasy points producers. I love the volume getters and guys that I know will get me the almost guaranteed points. Then I hunt for massive upside players and rookies that are primed for future success. The upside players and rookies are off of people’s radars for the most part and can be league winners. It is exciting when your consistent guys are holding down the fort and your young upside players start going off.

8. Don’t follow ADP and consensus rankings

This goes without saying if you follow my content. The cookie-cutter, copy and past rankings will not help you win championships.

9. Get 16 Rounds and have a backup plan

When you get 16 Rounds, you will be light years ahead of the competition. 10. Anticipate and do mock drafts

The last thing you want to happen is having someone snipe your players in a draft. You have done all this research and know who the optimal players are and then your competition drafts him right before you. Make sure you do a lot of mock drafts so you know when players are coming off the board and you can anticipate drafting them. Having this 6th sense is crucial to your success in winning and securing the fantasy studs you want.
